To all BCCMA members,

The regulations have now been released for the 2026 European Wushu Championships, which will be held in Lyon, France between 5th and 11th May.

Any athletes that are BCCMA members born during or before 2014 are welcome to try out for the National Wushu Team, and if selected, will be invited to compete for Great Britain in Lyon, in their chosen modern events.

Please refer to the regulations published by the WKFE for details about the championships.

The selections will take place in Derby in late January (date to be confirmed). To register for the selection process, please submit an email to mike.donoghue@bccma.com before midnight on 31st December 2025, declaring your intent. Further details about the selections event will be communicated to registrants in early January.

As per the WKFE regulations, athletes that compete in traditional events are not permitted to compete in modern events, and vice versa.

Athletes that were previously selected onto the 2025 National Wushu Team by way of the National Wushu Championships held in May 2025, will qualify automatically to be able to compete in Lyon as part of the 2026 National Wushu Team.
