Sally Grinhey

Having always had in interest in martial arts I took up Karate in my teens. After achieving a 3rd degree black belt I found an advert for a local Tai Chi class. As luck would have it the class was taught by our Technical Director Tony Swanson who showed me, to my shock, that he could unbalance me very, very easily. Gareth Pryce

Gareth has been practicing Tai Chi since 1998 and has been learning from the Technical Director for the Taoist Arts Organisation for 15 years. Gareth has competed in national and international Tai Chi form and push hands competitions and is currently the European champion for both.

Sahu Tao Shen

Steve Jones

Sifu Steve Jones is the Chief Instructor of the Wales Wing Chun Kuen. In addition, he is a senior Instructor of the Midlands Wing Chun Kuen Association.
He began studying under Sifu Rawcliffe in Birmingham in 1987. After qualifying as an Instructor in 1991, Sifu Jones opened his first class in South Wales. Sifu Jones teaches as a representative of Sifu Rawcliffe’s Midlands Wing Chun Kuen Association, who he trains with privately in Birmingham with him at least once a month.

Ian Walsh

Ian started training in martial arts at an early age obtaining a black belt as a teenager. Over the years he’s studied a variety of martial arts including karate, Jiu jitsu, Aikido, Taekwondo, BJJ and Muay thai before finding Wing Chun in the year 2000. Since 2000 Sifu Ian has studied under Sifu Rawcliffe within the Ip Chun lineage including several trips to Hong kong to train with Si Gung Ip Chun himself.

Kevin Williams

Sifu Kevin Williams is a senior instructor of the Wales Wing Chun Kuen. He has trained at the Wales headquarters since 1998.
After earning an instructor qualification in 2006, he is now running his own class in Pontypridd.
Kevin holds an instructors certificate from the Midlands Wing Chun Kuen. In addition he is a member of the Wing Chun Ip Chun Academy.

Shaun Rawcliffe

Midlands Wing Chun Kuen Chief Instructor, Shaun Rawcliffe is a direct student, instructor and certified representative (one of only twenty in the world) of Grandmaster Ip Chun.
Sifu Rawcliffe personally teaches classes at the MWCK headquarters in Hall Green, Birmingham and in Solihull, plus teaches seminars and private tuition.
He is a former professional close protection officer, CQB instructor, author of three books on Wing Chun and 3 times an awardee and recipient of COMBAT Hall of Fame.

Dedicated practitioner of Hao family TaijiQuan with over 15 years experience in the art and linage that traces back to the authors of the Taiji classics.
Travels regularly to China to further his knowledge and research in the internal arts.
Gold medal winner in 2008 tui shou competition .
A member of the Hao Syle TaijiQuan Research Institute. Dedicated to teaching the essential principles, theory and practical methods of Hao family Taiji Quan as passed down by Master Liu Jishun.

Barry phelan

Barry Phelan has been training in Chinese martial arts since 1992 and teaching since 1996.
He has competed in Kickboxing, Push hands, and Tai Chi forms and not teaches those disciplines.

Master Xingbo Liu

Master Xingbo is an executive member of the British Council for Chinese Martial Arts.
He is a 6th Duan Chinese Martial Arts Master who trained in the Shaolin Temple, in China. He has 30 years of expertise sharing his knowledge with people from different cultures from infant to the older community.

Huicong Liu

Huicong Liu has a Level 3 qualification in Sport Science. She is teaching Martial Arts and Mandarin Language for children and adults for over 8 years. She is a British champion in Chinese Martial Arts and Tai Chi.

Alan Bagley

Wing Chun Halesowen’s Instructor and owner, Sifu Alan Bagley has been involved in martial arts since 1992, this all starting with Kickboxing and a little Lau Gar Kung.

Georgina Sutherland

Georgina Sutherland is Chief Instructor and General Secretary of JASMA. She trains Taijiquan, Shaolinquan, Wing Chun Kuen, Xingyiquan, Bagua Zhang and Tongbeiquan. She opened her first class in 2016 and also teaches privately. Georgina has a particular interest in the history of our rare wushu styles.

Jef Sutherland

Jef Sutherland began his martial arts journey in 1977 with judo and has been training ever since. He has trained Shaolin, Taiji, Xingyi, Bagua, Tong bei and Qi gong since 1990 and Wing Chun since 1999. He is a disciple of Grandmaster Sha Jun Jie. In 1998 Jef founded the Jeffrey Alexander School of Martial Arts (JASMA). Its aim is to preserve and promote traditional Chinese Martial Arts. Jef combines traditional teaching values with contemporary sports science training methodology.

Chris Dodds

Chris Dodds 2nd degree Black Belt, Ed Frosztega 1st Degree Black Belt. An experienced female and male team of instructors based in Wandsworth, who have been practising and teaching martial arts for many years.

Gabby Paintin

Gabriel (Gabby) Paintin 1st degree Black Belt, teaches the class in Chelmsford, which has been running for many years. Gabby a former sprinter now senior planning engineer, is a very agile and athletic Black Belt and a very brave man as he also teaches his Black Belt wife kickboxing in the class. Gabby and Ada are also SSK 2016 Taolu National champions. (Dr Ada also helps out, as our medic at SSK events).

Jon Alagoa

Jonathan Alagoa is a 2nd degree Black Belt in San Shou Kuan. He started training at the age of 8, studying Southern Mantis kung-fu with his elder brother. Jon took up Chinese Kickboxing and Taekwondo whilst at Queen Mary University, London. He holds a 2nd degree black belt in Chinese Kickboxing (in 2013) and a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo . He has run the LCTKD Taekwondo club in Chinatown since October 2013. Jon is a professional actor with an advanced level of stage combat.

Pierre Cochart

1st degree Black Belt, he started Judo at 6 years old, expanded into gymnastics, ultimately coaching several teams, including a competition squad. A BCCMA Sanda Nationals medalist himself, Pierre has many years of experience in multiple disciplines of martial arts. He brings experience and energy to his classes, setting various ‘games’ and exercises to help his students have fun while improving their technique and agility.
