Overview

The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity, (CIMSPA), is the UK’s professional development body, set up by the government and sponsored by Sport England, for the sport and physical activity sector.

CIMSPA Professional Standards

In partnership with a wide range of leisure industry employers, awarding organisations and technical experts, CIMSPA have developed, and continue to create professional standards that define what a person in a specific professional role (e.g., Coach, personal trainer, group exercise instructor) must know in term of knowledge, and be able to do in terms of their skills.

CIMSPAs professional standards serve as a framework for specific roles and occupations within the sector so that there is a unified and standardised set of criteria that the whole sector can get behind.

This course is Professional Standard Coach and covers all the content of the NGB Level 2 course plus additional content spitulated by CIMSPA. The course is split into two parts Part 1 looking at Best practice and Communication and Part 2 looking at the 3 stages of the coaching process Planning, Doing and Reviewing.  The initial course will offer part 1 and part 2 delivered in one session part 1 from 9.30am to 13.00  and part 2 from 13.30 to around 6pm

Future courses participants will be given an opportunity of doing both parts in one session or booking individual parts as a morning or afternoon session.
