National Governing Body Level 2 Course – Online (Virtual Classroom)

This course is restricted to people 18 years or older  who have some coaching experience and are looking to develop their skills further or for assistant coaches to progress from assistant coach to coach. The course is open to  BCCMA members and to non members. It is expected that participants have completed at least 3 years martial arts practice and are teaching or are ready to teach on their own and unsupervised.  Please note that course places must be booked on the system in advance, places will not be available on the day. Qualification from this course is in two parts Part 1 attendance to the online course, part 2 you need to send in a short video (around 10 minutes) of you teaching Chinese martial arts to a  group of students. What elements of your normal class, warmup, cooldown, hand techniques, leg techniques or combination work (partners)   is up to you the governing body are only interested in the fact that you can teach unsupervised and are demonstrating good working practice. There is no judgement on your personal skill level. Certificates will not be issued until your teaching videos have been reviewed.

Course places will be restricted to 20 people, registration and logon information will be sent to your registered email address 5 days before the start of the course. You will need to install ZOOM onto a pc, laptop or tablet, it is a free product. The system will work on a mobile but the small screen reduces the effectiveness of the presentation. You will also need a working camera and microphone on your device as the course is interactive.

This course starts at 9.30am and will end around 1.45pm

The Level 2 National Governing Body (NGB) training course is designed for those who have some coaching experience and are looking to develop their skills further and for assistant coaches to progress from assistant coach to coach. It is expected that participants have completed at least 3 years martial arts practice and are teaching or are ready to teach on their own and unsupervised. The course covers the legal requirements of coaching, particularly the health and safety implications and your ‘duty of care’ to your participants and any other you allow in the training environment plus much more please see contents.
